The package arrived seven days later. I remember opening it and thinking, "This better not be another $120 waste of money."
The pillow itself looked... normal? Memory foam with this black fabric cover. But it had a USB cable and a control panel with buttons for heat, vibration, and this "electric lifting" feature.
Instructions said to use it for 15 minutes before bed.
So that first night, I plugged it in, positioned it behind my lower back, and pressed the auto mode button.
Within 30 seconds, I felt gentle warmth spreading across my lower back. Not burning hot like those cheap heating pads. Just... therapeutic warmth that felt like it was reaching deep.
Then the vibration started. It wasn't aggressive like a massage gun. More like gentle kneading that worked into the tight muscles along my spine.
Then something weird happened. The pillow started to gently inflate and lift. Not scary or painful. Just this slow, controlled expansion that created space in my lower back.
For the first time in eight months, I felt my back muscles actually release.
I sat there for the full 15 minutes, and when it auto-shut off, I realized something shocking:
I wasn't bracing against pain anymore.
That constant tension I'd been carrying for months had loosened. My back felt... warm. Relaxed. Almost normal.
I didn't want to get my hopes up. So I turned off the light and prepared for the usual nightmare.
